I pride myself in building the total athlete. I have been blessed to assist a number of student athletes reach their college aspirations. Ricky Harris

Coach Ricky Harris was born in 1982. His passion for basketball began in the 3rd grade when he first picked up a basketball. He attended Gwynn Park High School from 1996-2000, where he played point guard at the varsity level for 3 years, in which his team played in the state finals for two of those years. After high school, he went on to further his education at Tuskegee University, majoring and graduating with a B.S in Electrical Engineering, as well as George Washington University, graduating with a M.S. in Engineering Management. While at Tuskegee, he developed, organized, and ran an intramural basketball league, which continues to this day. After graduating and moving back home to Maryland, he began volunteering as a coach (REMOVE for the Clinton Boys & Girls Club. He) and later became the Basketball Commissioner for the Clinton Boys & Girls Club. He transitioned to coaching AAU basketball, (REMOVE and) becoming a skills trainer in 2017, where he later developed his own basketball organization, Team Dominate. Coach Harris began coaching high school basketball in 2021, at National Christian Academy as the Head Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. In 2022 he became the Head Coach for Adidas affiliated basketball organization New World as their 16s HGSL team head coach.


Sean Mclaughlin

Sean McLaughlin was born March 18,1969 in Washington DC. He attended Spingarn High School and had a passion to play basketball. Sean McLaughlin played 3 years of varsity basketball at Spingarn High School. Sean McLaughlin started coaching in the DMV area. He was head coach for an AAU team called Ballerville and helped develop basketball skills for 8 through 10 year old boys in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He moved on and became Assistant coach for middle school aged boys with AAU team called Team Dominate. Sean McLaughlin also became Assistant coach for National Christian Academy where he was Assistant coach for Junior Varsity for 1 year and coached Varsity. He has now landed as great Assistant coach at New Hope Academy, where he still has the passion to train and make young men become great athletes.


Lorenzo Blyther

Born in Silver Springs Maryland, Lorenzo Blyther attended Northwood High School where he played varsity basketball. Lorenzo found he loved teaching the game to youth, and has been coaching for 10 years. As CEO and head coach of the AAU program Showtime Elite, he coaches high school, and has trained many talented players who went on to play on the collegiate level. Last year Lorenzo was Assistant Head Coach for James Hubert Blake JV team, which went undefeated that season. Lorenzo has joined NHA as an Assistant Coach where he will challenge and develop these young men to become great athletes.


Ron Perrell

Coach Perrell, a retired banker of 45 years, is married and lives in Olney Maryland. He has been a youth basketball coach for 13 years, winning 4 championships as former Head Girls Varsity Coach at Academy of the Holy Cross and Elizabeth Seton. Highlights of his basketball coaching career include being selected in 1992 to coach the Maryland State Girls Basketball All Star Game at Cole Field House, being named the WCAC Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 1992 and the PG County Girls Basketball Coach of the Year also in 1992. Coach Perrell is currently coaching for New World Vito North and is Assistant Boys Varsity Coach for New Hope Academy.


John Crowe

My Name is John Crowe. I am a Role Model, Mentor, Father, Basketball Coach. I have 20 years combined experience playing and coaching. I graduated from Northwest High School, playing AAU & High School Basketball. I was never blessed to reach college level basketball due to personal matters in life but I was blessed to have a true understanding of how this Game of Basketball is played. I owe the Game of basketball a lot. Basketball saved my life. It was an outlet for me, keeping me out of trouble. I was locked in on my studies, becoming a Student Athlete. I currently have my own Basketball Training Program “Crowe Basketball Academy” . I pride myself in Teaching the youth fundamentals of basketball, Team Building, Leadership Skills, and becoming Young Scholars. I’m also an Assistant director/recruiter of a AAU Program NWVN. I am currently Regional Varsity Head Coach at New Hope Academy and Assistant National Varsity Coach. I Coach 9&10TH Grade AAAU for “New World Vito North” . I am an experienced multi level basketball coach who uses interpersonal and influential skills both on and off the court to encourage students to always perform at their best on the court in life and in the classroom. I also have great relationships & promote team building and community health.


Ronnie Brooks

Coach Brooks has been coaching youth and high school sports for over 20 years, all age levels. Early in his coaching career, he was the head Middle School coach and varsity assistant at Washington Christian Academy. Most recently, he has coached at The Woods Academy and St. Thomas More. Over fifteen years ago, he founded and was the head coach of the AAU program Team Dynasty. Coach Brooks has been instrumental in sending high school players on to play at the collegiate level. Coach Brooks believes in embracing the process of growth, which entails the need to focus on how to get better every day in order to succeed. Coach Brooks’ teams focus on sound fundamentals, team-oriented basketball with a primary emphasis on defense. His passion for basketball and mentoring the youth are evident in his commitment to the kids and the community.
